Love Restored by Carrie Ann Ryan - Blog Tour with Review and Giveaway

Love Restored

About LOVE RESTORED

In the first of a Montgomery Ink spin-off series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, a broken man uncovers the truth of what it means to take a second chance with the most unexpected woman…

Graham Gallagher has seen it all. And when tragedy struck, lost it all. He’s been the backbone of his brothers, the one they all rely on in their lives and business. And when it comes to falling in love and creating a life, he knows what it’s like to have it all and watch it crumble. He’s done with looking for another person to warm his bed, but apparently he didn’t learn his lesson because the new piercer at Montgomery Ink tempts him like no other.

Blake Brennen may have been born a trust fund baby, but she’s created a whole new life for herself in the world of ink, piercings, and freedom. Only the ties she’d thought she’d cut long ago aren’t as severed as she’d believed. When she finds Graham constantly in her path, she knows from first glance that he’s the wrong kind of guy for her. Except that Blake excels at making the wrong choice and Graham might be the ultimate temptation for the bad girl she’d thought long buried.

4 out of 5 stars
Love Restored is the first book in the Gallagher Brothers series, which is a spin-off of the Montgomery Ink series. What a spin-off this series is going to be! Talk about hot, sexy bearded, inked and pierced men! The Gallagher Brothers are hotter than hell.

Love Restored kicks off the series with Graham Gallagher's story. Graham's one of the older Gallagher brothers and he's got a bit of a surly attitude. Now his attitude stems from having dealt with a life altering tragedy, so I completely get the grumpiness. Honestly it kind of adds to his already bearded, inked, and pierced sexiness.  The Gallagher brothers are very similar to the Montgomery's. They are an extremely close knit family, who are always there for each other even when the other person kind of wants them to just go away. Graham loves his family to pieces but he has times when the togetherness is just a bit much.

Graham and his brothers are starting to restore a historical home, and the first day that they meet the owner, Graham sticks his foot in it and insults her. Then a few days later he and the youngest brother, Murphy run into Blake again at Montgomery Ink. Of course Graham sees her ink and is attracted but his surly self decides to insult her once again. Of course this gets his brothers conspiring against him after the confront him for his attitude. His brother Owen 'drags' Graham off to a Colorado Avalanche game with tickets given to him from their other brother Jake. Who else shows up to the game but Blake with one of the other artists from Montgomery Ink. Needless to say both Blake and Graham are a wee bit pissed off but they finally deal with it and move on.

Of course that's not the end of things because they're both seriously attracted to the other, unfortunately they're both hiding things which they don't want to share at first. They both also feel that a relationship is not in their future because of events in their pasts. It leads them on a really rocky path forward and allows their own issues to close them off until something happens to bring them together again.

I've been a fan of this author since the start of her career and her books are still going strong, still fun to read with sexy male characters, and strong willed female characters. Of course her Montgomery's and Gallagher's are favorites because I love men and women with ink, and piercings and that are outside of the 'normal' character types.

Love Restored was a strong lead off to this new spin-off series. There were a few things that didn't work for me which is why it's a 4 star rating. I felt like there was almost a touch too much drama and misunderstanding between Blake and Graham. Almost to the point that I didn't get a clear connection outside of the sexual attraction until the last 25%. Now don't get me wrong, their sexual attraction to each other is off the charts and they have some wickedly hot sex scenes. I just didn't feel that it was enough development to the relationship. The story does end in an HFN but as this is part of a series the characters will be revisited in the next 2 books, and I'd hazard a guess that they'll show up in some of the Montgomery Ink books as well. Outside of that I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the pacing was good, and the characters were well developed.

I'm excited for the remaining two books in the Gallagher Brothers series, up next is Owen's book and then we'll get Murphy's story. I can't wait to see what Owen is hiding in his story and well Murphy deserves the most fantastic HEA ever after surviving his illness.

I highly suggest this book for all you readers that love your men a little wild, a lot sexy, and all bearded and inked and pierced.
