Zac never had a family of his own, but Rudy has enough to share.

Shy, inexperienced Rudy has a crush on Zac from the moment his new colleague walks through the door. On an office night out before Christmas, Rudy finds the courage to make a move, and they form a tentative bond. When he discovers Zac will be alone at Christmas, he invites Zac to come home with him.

Zac prefers to keep people at arm’s length. Yet when Rudy offers him a family Christmas it’s impossible to resist. With no parents of his own, Zac is pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by Rudy’s. The only drawback is that everyone assumes they’re a couple. Unwilling to disappoint Rudy’s mum and make Christmas awkward, they decide not to deny it.

It’s not a chore for Zac to pose as Rudy’s boyfriend, but the pretense makes him want things that scare him—things like a real relationship with Rudy. Zac’s suffered enough rejection in his life already and is afraid to risk his heart. If he can get over his past rejection and let Rudy inside his armour, he might get more for Christmas than he ever imagined.

4.5 out of 5 stars

A Family For Christmas is a standalone contemporary holiday romance.

This is one adorkably cute, sweet, sexy, and tender story of pretend boyfriends who turn into the real thing.

Rudy and Zac meet at Rainbow Futures, the LGBTQ+charity organization on Zac's first day on the job. Zac is the new guy who sticks to himself and isn't looking for friends. He's gotten himself into the pattern of work, gym, home, eat, and sleep with little room for anything else. One night he's coerced into going out for drinks with his co-workers by their boss and Zac finds himself chatting with Rudy. Of course this is after liberal applications of tequila, which loosens both Zac and Rudy's inhibitions.  The two share a hot, but very drunken kiss and Zac ends up sharing Rudy's bed. Although nothing more then Rudy inviting Zac home for Christmas happens.

Rudy and Zac do end up going together to Rudy's family for the Christmas Holiday where Rudy's mom mistakenly thinks they're a couple and has them share Rudy's bed.  The boys make the best of it in the end because they are attracted to each other. Zac has some moments though while visiting Rudy's family. Having no family of his own, Zac doesn't know what to make of them accepting him so easily. He's torn with the need to protect himself by being alone but has the wistful longing for  the closeness that Rudy's family and Rudy show him.

I've never read a bad story by this author and this story is no exception. I would even go so far as to say that Rudy and Zac are probably my favorite characters that he's written up to this point. They were both so easy to fall in love with, Rudy for his adorkable sweetness and Zac for his prickly but wants to be loved self. That is also where the only conflict in this story occurs, within Zac because he wants the love he sees before him but he doesn't want to be left behind or alone again. While Rudy may have been physically inexperienced, he's capable of giving so much love and family to Zac that they are perfect for each other.

While this wasn't the first holiday story I've read this season, it has been my favorite so far. I highly recommend this lovely holiday read to everyone.

A trip down to Cornwall is just what Ryan Penniford needs to recover from the daily grind of London life. Ryan and his amateur dramatics society, the Sarky Players, are traveling to Porthcurno to perform at the stunning Minack Theatre.

Stuart Box has returned to Cornwall after earning his PhD, and is killing time as he looks for a job back in London. Spending time with Ryan from the Sarky Players is a great way to take his mind off things.

During their first meeting, sparks fly, but not in a good way, and they must work to get past their initial hostilities to discover they have great off-stage chemistry. Stuart soon learns Ryan is not the superficial man people assume he is, and Stuart likes what he sees. The feeling is entirely mutual.

Pity Ryan is only visiting for two weeks, but both men want to see where this holiday romance might take them.

April spun around. “Ointment and lube are not the same.” She wrinkled her nose. “Why do you smell like… Exactly what is that smell?”

He organized a few boxes of bandages on the shelf. “Ran into an older lady who couldn’t decide which lotion she wanted to give her husband, so she rubbed it all over my neck and took a whiff.”
April bubbled with laughter and gripped the opening of his leather jacket. “You’re such a nice guy. That’s why I fell in love with you.”

“I thought it was my six-pack.” His eyes glittered with amusement as he looked down at her with pure adoration in those coffee-brown eyes. Reno was a big guy with a tough demeanor, but he had a heart of gold beneath that macho exterior. He could melt her heart with a single glance, and he was thoughtful in ways that most men weren’t.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!
I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.
